NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that on March 7, 2001, at 9:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Board of Supervisors of Mohave County (the County), will hold a public hearing at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 809 E. Beale Street, Kingman, Arizona, concerning the proposed issuance by The Industrial Development Authority of the County of Pima (the Pima County Authority) of its Education Revenue Bonds (Arizona Charter Schools Project II), Series 2001 (the Bonds) to be issued in a maximum aggregate face amount of $30,000,000. The Bonds will be used to assist Kingman Academy, Inc., Young Scholars, Inc., International Studies, Inc., and Life School College Preparatory, Inc. (each a Borrower and, collectively, the Borrowers) in financing or refinancing the costs of acquiring, constructing and equipping new facilities and renovating and improving certain existing facilities for use as administrative space, classrooms, parking, athletic facilities, auditoriums, cafeterias, gymnasiums, libraries, and other spaces all attendant to elementary and/or secondary education (the Projects), funding certain reserves for the Bonds and paying capitalized interest and the costs of issuing the Bonds. Each Borrower is an Arizona nonprofit organization that is exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Projects (i) which are or will be initially owned and operated by Kingman Academy, Inc., and which will be financed or refinanced with a maximum face amount of Bonds not to exceed $7,450,000, are or may be located at the following locations: 1910 East Andy Devine Avenue, Kingman, Arizona; 3269 Harrison Street, Kingman, Arizona; 3419 Harrison Street, Kingman, Arizona; 2299 Beverly Avenue, Kingman, Arizona; and on other properties of no known street address but contiguous or adjacent to the properties located on Harrison Street to the east, and Beverly Avenue to the west, all in Kingman, Arizona (of approximately 2.49 acres, Assessors Number 320-10-042; and of approximately 1.26 acres, Assessors Number 320-10-037; and of approximately 1.88 acres, Assessors Number 320-10-076; and of approximately 1.03 acres, Assessors Number 320-10-041); (ii) which are or will be initially owned and operated by Young Scholars, Inc., and which will be financed or refinanced with a maximum face amount of Bonds not to exceed $4,225,000, are or may be located at the following location: 1501 Valencia Road, Bullhead City, Arizona; (iii) which are or will be initially owned and operated by International Studies, Inc., and which will be financed or refinanced with a maximum face amount of Bonds not to exceed $7,400,000, are or may be located at the following locations: 4744 West Grovers Avenue, Glendale, Arizona; 15739 West Custer Lane, Surprise, Arizona; and (iv) which are or will be initially owned and operated by Life School College Preparatory, Inc., and which will be financed with a maximum face amount of Bonds not to exceed $4,175,000, are or may be located at the following locations: property of no known street address but generally located at the corner of McKellips and Lindsay Roads (which property is adjacent to 2929 East McKellips Road) in Mesa, Arizona; and 1249 North Lindsay Road, Gilbert, Arizona; Part of the Northwest corner of Section 7, Township 1 South, Range 7 East of the Gila and Salt River Baseline and Meridian, which is generally located south of the southeast corner of Power Road and Guadalupe Road, Mesa, Arizona; and 1375 North McClintock Drive, Chandler, Arizona. The Bonds will be special limited obligations of the Pima County Authority and will not constitute a debt or pledge of the full faith and credit or taxing power of the Pima County Authority (it being understood the Pima County Authority has no taxing power), the County of Pima, the County of Mohave, the State of Arizona, or any political subdivision thereof. Any person may appear at such hearing and express his or her views, or may submit his or her views in writing, regarding the proposed issue of the Bonds and the location and nature of the facilities to be financed.
