Kathleen Hanrahan's Travel Pages - Orlando
I did a year in Lake Mary, FL (just outside Orlando) between June 1995 and June 1996. It was during this time that we bought our AirGator airboat (naturally!).
City/State Links:
National Hurrican Center/Tropical Prediction Center
Airport:
MCO - Orlando Airport
Radio Stations:
It's been WAY too long. I'm lucky that I remember that I was even here!
Restaurants:
Boston Market, Lake Mary - I had my own button on the cash register for a while! How's that for eating at a place too often?
Krystal
Steak 'n Shake
El Bohio Cafe (I think!) - The Cuban restaurant at 5756 Dahlia Dr., close to Colonial/50 and Semoran Blvd(?). Great tamal (I thought that they/it were tamales, but it turned out to be "tamale pie") and queso flan. Thank you, Robert! Very yummy!
Le Coq Au Vin - French place at 4800 S. Orange Avenue (south or west of downtown Orlando).
Campgrounds:
I did time down here before we had the RV, so I can't say.
My Regional Favorites:
The B52 at MCO, the Orlando Airport.
Various air-boat manufacturers -
AirGator,
Diamondback, etc. (the other names currently escape me - I'll work on them)
17/92 (highways) - turn around anywhere and you'll see it!
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art - This museum has a WONDERFUL Tiffany exhibit near Rollins College. Tiffany glass is so much more spectacular in person! Oh, YES!
